Benjamin’s interests include igneous petrology, fluid dynamics of material transport and mixing, and large-scale geodynamics.  He has worked on recognition and quantitative/qualitative descriptions of mixed magma systems and is keen to continue to develop numerical models that further explore the fluid dynamics of magma interactions. Currently, Benjamin is working on the coupled behavior between tectonics and climate within the Mt. St. Elias region.  This research explores the relationship between crustal strength, erosion, and uplift within a collisional orogeny.
