SGE Purpose
Purpose and Objective
The Society was founded in 1915 to recognize scholarship and
professionalis in the Earth Sciences. It has for its ojectives the scholastic, scientific, and professional advancement of its members and the extension of relations of friendship and assistance among colleges and universities which are devoted to the advancement of the Earth Sciences.
Activities for Fall 2004 Semester
Host the Open House during Earth Science Week 2004 (October 10 - 16)
Arroyo Trash Pick-up (UTEP Arroyo) Nov. 19, 2004
Activities for Spring 2005
Host International Dinner - Jan. 15, 2005 (location: Dr. Aaron Velasco's house)
Highway Clean-Up (Feb. 2005 specific date TBD)
Weekend Volunteering at the Science Museum, Insights
Annual Earth Sciences Spring Picnic 2005 (Apr. 2005)
